One woman came to me who was bouncing checks left and right. She was a single mother with four children. Everything had gotten out of hand. She was spending above her means and incurring these rather large check charges. We ended up looking at the money she had, and figured out how much she actually had to spend on everything. I remember that we reduced her entertainment budget for one week with four children to $15. You can’t even take four children to a movie for $15! But she decided to stick to it, and they ended up going to wonderful free summer concerts. They had more fun than ever. A relative ended up paying for a trip for them to take that was a gift. That had never occurred before.
